“Carefully, Desire” (2007), dir. Ang Lee

The 30s of the last century. Young members of the underground resistance movement are planning an attack on the police chief, Mr. Yee, who cooperates with the invader. They devise a plan, and the key role is played by shy student Wong. It is supposed to seduce Mr. Yee, weaken his vigilance and thus make an easy target. Despite her fears and inhibitions, the girl takes on the task. From an innocent provincial girl, she turns into a sophisticated, big-city beauty with sex appeal. The victim falls into an intricately woven net, but not everything goes as planned. The fascination turns out to be mutual.
