Just a few years ago, it was difficult to find foreign fashion magazines in Polish kiosks and press salons. Fortunately, a lot has changed since then and we can now choose from dozens of titles. These magazines are not only colorful covers with stars. Their interior very often contains a lot of interesting, inspiring content and photo sessions. Covers and sessions are often controversial and commented around the world. We have selected for you the top 10 fashion magazines worth reading!
1. Vogue
Vogue is considered to be the most important women’s magazine in the fashion world. It is called the bible of fashion! The magazine was created in the United States at the end of the 19th century and has been published continuously ever since! It currently performs in 21 countries. The most famous is the American version, but the magazine has had many editions – in addition to the British, French, Italian and Spanish, there is also, among others, Russian, Japanese and Indian edition. On February 13, 2018, the official premiere of the Polish edition of this iconic fashion magazine took place! The cover is controversial. 2. Harper’s Bazaar
Like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar has a rich history. It was created earlier and is considered the first fashion magazine in the United States. Initially, it was published every week. It targeted middle and upper-class American women. In February 2013, the first issue of the Polish Harper ‘Bazaar!
3. Elle
I guess everyone knows this magazine! Elle is synonymous with following trends. This title comes from France (in French, “elle” means “she”) and is addressed to women who want to be up to date with fashion and trends. 4. Cosmopolitan
The first issue of the journal was published in 1886 by Schlicht & Field as The Cosmopolitan. Currently, Cosmopolitan is published in over 34 language versions, including Polish, and reaches audiences in over 100 countries. In addition to fashion, Cosmopolitan publishes information about the life of celebrities, beauty and sex tips.
5. i-D
iD has always been a source of inspiration in the fashion world and owes its reputation to this. Beginning? London, 1980, the punk era and street fashion fanzine. A squinted eye is the hallmark of models and models posing on the cover. One eye is always closed or covered.
6. Marie-Claire
Fashion in “Marie Claire” is more conservative and more affordable than, for example, in Vogue. Readers who reach for this monthly, in addition to fashion, also want to get to know cosmetic news and read about sex and relationships. In 2005, after publishing a few issues, the Polish edition of the magazine was closed.
7. Vanity Fair
The name of the magazine translates as “vanity fair”. Although fashion is at a very high level here, it is not the main topic and content. The monthly is heavily suspended in Hollywood, it deals with stars, movies, music, culture. Vanity also publishes political reports and long, candid interviews.
8. Glamour
Glamor presents itself as a luxury monthly for young women. It was created in the USA in 1939 and was initially titled Glamor of Hollywood. The Polish edition translates some of the articles from the American or British editions.
9. In the Magazine
He comes out every two months, mixing style with kitsch, famous with unknown, philosophy with gossip. The letter has a large format with a title in the center. An ideal proposition for people who do not like categorization and classics in fashion.
10. W Magazine
It is impossible to miss this magazine. Firstly, it is much larger than the rest of the newspapers, and secondly, it surprises with the beauty of its covers. ‘W’ in this case is the answer to – who, what, when and why (ie who, what, where, when and why).
