Woodstock – a cult festival
The Woodstock Music and Art Fair , or Woodstock Festival, is an already historic musical event. A festival held in 1969 in Bethel , New York. “Peace, Love and Happiness” is the slogan that accompanied him. About 400,000 people participated in the event and is still considered one of the largest youth rallies in the 1960s. The performances of the artists were recorded and then released as an Oscar-winning documentary “Woodstock”. That festival became a symbol of the flower children culture and contemporary music. New Netflix documentary series
The legend of the festival has become a permanent part of pop culture. So it’s no surprise that Netflix has decided to produce a series on the subject. The production is to focus not on the original 1969 Woodstock, but on an event that was held 30 years later in Rome. While the first festival was kept in the spirit of love and peace, the one from 1999 turned into a nightmare for some. The latter featured, inter alia, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica. During the concerts, there were fights, arson, sexual assaults and brawls. The organizers’ mistakes and bad conditions are to be the leitmotif of the new production of the streaming platform. They will be speaking on the showpeople who were involved in the organization of the festival, eyewitnesses and stars who performed at that time.
