When deciding on a specific destination, take into account not only the attractiveness of packages for newlyweds, but above all your preferences regarding the type of rest.

4. Paper job
Changing the bride’s name carries some obligations that are best addressed as soon as possible, especially for newlyweds who plan to spend their honeymoon abroad. You must remember that after changing the personal data in the passport, it expires 60 days from the moment of drawing up the marriage certificate stating the change of name. In the case of persons staying abroad, this period is 4 months. After the wedding, when the bride takes her husband’s surname or her double surname, while keeping her maiden name, it is necessary to obtain new documents.
We advise you, depending on the date of departure, to refrain from obtaining documents or to do it as soon as possible. If you start your honeymoon a few days after the ceremony, the bride can safely travel with her old passport, as long as she returns to Poland within 60 days from the date of change of name. Are you planning your trip only after your wedding or have you chosen a distant date? In that case, immediately take the steps necessary to obtain the new documents. This process takes a minimum of two weeks.

Importantly, when booking a trip through a travel agency, think carefully about what passport the bride will travel with and give this exact name to the consultant when booking air tickets. Most often, airlines do not allow a free name change on the ticket, so a careless purchase often ends up having to pay for the flight again. Of course, there are times when the airline will allow you to change your name for a small fee, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
